We interviewed Chuck Norris in Fort Worth, and yeah, he's awesome

As Dallas Morning News producer Dom DiFurio prepared to talk with Chuck Norris at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth on Sunday morning, we were optimistic. I mean, Chuck Norris is unarguably awesome on the Internet. He's like that in person, too, right?

Absolutely. A candid, funny and interesting Norris chatted with DiFurio before he announced the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers vying for the championship at the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Norris is perfect for the job, as he's a NASCAR fan and his son, Eric, is a racecar driver. And NASCAR's a fan of Norris, too. For obvious reasons.

Wearing a "America: Chuck Yeah!" shirt -- which is the most awesome thing evar -- watch the man, the myth, the legend chat with DiFurio on Facebook Live:

His favorite Chuck Norris fact...

"They wanted to put Chuck Norris on Mt. Rushmore, but the granite wasn't tough enough for his beard."

He's a good guy, too:

Norris went to meet American troops overseas in 2006. He shook hands and met 20,000 of them, he says. (How is this possible? It seemed ridiculous to ask. If anyone can do it, Chuck Norris can.)

On why he's wearing that awesome shirt...

"I wouldn't normally wear a T-shirt with my face on it," he jokes. Why not?! We would. His "America: Chuck Yeah!" shirt is a fundraiser.
