Texas politician's re-election ad should get everyone's vote for funniest one of the year

She really wants you to vote for husband. Like, for reals.

Unlike the disaster reels that seem to be plaguing the presidential election ads, this re-election ad out of Travis County is hilarious.

Republican Gerald Daugherty is seeking re-election as Travis County Commissioner. Or, rather, Charlyn Daugherty is seeking re-election for him. She starts out the ad by saying that her husband "really doesn't have any hobbies" and ends with a plea many wives and significant others can understand:

To  his credit, Daugherty helps with the house work. But while he's washing the dishes, he can't stop talking about how to fix what he sees as problems in the county. He even talks about tax rates while grilling food.

His wife must have a headache from rolling her eyes so much.

Either way, it's a nice respite to some of the vitriol that's been disguising itself as political ads and commentary of late. Besides, "all he wants to do is fix things."

I'm here -- and laughing -- for all of it.
