Jazzberry Jammin' New Year's Eve

Happy Noon Year Celebration at the Dallas Arboretum
If you're hankering for the spectacle of a New Year's ball drop without waiting until midnight, this kid-focused event in the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden wraps up the excitement before bedtime. The gardens open at 9 a.m., and activities include a craft session to make a wishing wand, a stargazing adventure in the OmniGlobe theater and hands-on science experiments. Moments before noon, there will be a countdown with a beautiful flower ball drop to celebrate the impending arrival of 2019.

Parents, it's time to party; this event aimed at children 6-11 beats hiring a baby sitter on Dec. 31. Stay out late while your cubs enjoy an overnight sleepover that includes dinner, snacks, games and animal encounters on a moonlight safari. Keepers will even ensure your young are well-fed with a continental breakfast before you pick them up and head back to your habitat on New Year's Day.
