The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is hosting a free April 10 concert designed for children and adults on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities, as well as their families, friends and caregivers. The program includes Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante in B-flat major and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. Arrangements will be made to accommodate the individual needs of people with acute sensitivities, "quiet rooms" will be set aside for those who need a break from the music, and the house lights will be brighter. If you show up before the performance, there'll be chances to try out instruments at an instrument petting zoo and opportunities to learn more about resources in Dallas for families and individuals with developmental disabilities. Tickets, which are available online in advance, are required.

AMC Theatres

The chain partners with the Autism Society for screenings at several locations with the lights turned up a little, the sound turned down a little and a relaxed atmosphere where kids can get up, talk and move around as needed. Find details at amctheatres.com/sff.
