Want to be on TV? Food Network is filming a show — with an unnamed celebrity — at State Fair of Texas in Dallas this week

You don't have to be a chef, or even pretend to be one, to be featured on a Food Network pilot show. All you have to do is show up on Wednesday, Oct. 18 to the State Fair of Texas in Dallas and be selected to eat "carnival food." Easy enough?

The show, so far unnamed, will feature an unnamed celebrity.

The plot thickens: He or she is "a recognizable face from TV in the food realm," is all fair spokeswoman Karissa Condoianis would say. Another hint: The TV pilot will be similar in style to Throwdown with Bobby Flay, a competition-style TV show on the Food Network where celebrity chef Bobby Flay competes against other cooks to see who makes the better dish. But it's not going to be Flay.

Guy Fieri was just at the State Fair of Texas, judging a food competition, after filming parts of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives around Dallas. Could it be Fieri? No telling.

If you'd like a shot at a spot in the audience, the filming runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18. and they'll ultimately let about 30 or 40 people into a cordoned-off area in Cotton Bowl Plaza.

To participate, email a person named Dija at casting@citizenpictures.com in advance and tell her why you should get chosen. Then get yourself into the State Fair of Texas Wednesday morning and get in line. Come hungry: The audience will be eating food -- "possibly" dishes from the State Fair of Texas, Condoianis says. Some fried? Some not? Dunno.
