Southlake resident Chris Muncy is the Week 1 winner in the State Fair of Texas Photo Contest powered by neighborsgo.
"This was my first time to the State Fair and someone at my office said I should see the fireworks," Muncy said in an email.
It paid off.
Muncy captured the winning image -- fireworks exploding in the sky as seen from the Lone Star Boulevard sign on the midway -- on his iPhone5.
A panel of neighborsgo editors selected his photo from entries posted to neighborsgo.com/statefairpics or hashtagged #statefairpics.
For winning, Muncy receives a $100 gift card from Arlington Camera and will advance to the grand-prize round.
