Donny and Marie Osmond will be watching 'The Force Awakens' in Gainesville Friday

Entertainment stars Donny and Marie Osmond will be in Gainesville, Texas Friday night to host a private screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The siblings, who are performing at WinStar World Casino this weekend, have a night off and decided to make the most of it by renting part of the DMAX Cinema in Gainesville and treating fans to a free viewing of the new movie. According to People magazine, which broke the news, many of the series' characters made their mainstream debuts on the Donny and Marie Show.

"Little did I know, these characters that I'm singing and dancing next to were going to change the world," Donny told the pub.

The Osmonds recently ran a social media contest, asking fans to post videos of themselves in Star Wars garb or using Star Wars music under the hashtag #StarWarsWithDonny. The winners, announced Thursday, won free tickets to see the movie in 3-D with the Osmonds.

There may be "a possibility" that fans who did not win tickets may gain access to the screening, says Pam Pate, general manager at DMAX Cinemas, but she wouldn't count on it. She spoke with the Osmond's manager who said if there are empty seats, they may be filled, but there's no guarantee.

Contrary to reports the Osmonds rented out the whole theater, Pate confirmed the duo will only use one screen. The rest of Friday night's regularly scheduled showings will go on as planned, she says. The Osmonds' screening begins at 7 p.m., according to Marie's Instagram. Donny and Marie are not scheduled for any other appearances before heading back to Oklahoma for their performances, Pate says.
