The Stars and Golden Knights’ series is now tied at two and heading back to Dallas.

This series is tied.

The Dallas Stars have fought back from an 0-2 deficit to win back-to-back road games in Vegas and even the series with the Golden Knights at two games apiece.

It was the Stars’ depth that shined on Monday, with goals from Ty Dellandrea and Evgenii Dadonov helped to coral a victory before the series heads back to Dallas.

Third period (1:22 remaining): After blocking a shot, Roope Hintz collected himself and fired the puck down the ice from the Stars’ blue line to add an empty-net goal.

Third period (10:05 remaining): No score change through the first half of the third period, with Jake Oettinger having held off 24 of 26 Vegas shots so far.

A long 10 minutes to go for Dallas.

End of second period - Dallas 3, Vegas 2

Again the Stars put one in net just before intermission, and again it’s a weird one.

Dallas’ third of the night came off a shot from Craig Smith that bounced off Ty Dellandrea and into the Vegas net. The Stars carry a 3-2 lead into the third period.

Dallas 2, Vegas 2

Second period (10:15 remaining): The kid does it again.

End of first period - Dallas 1, Vegas 1

The Stars get a late-in-the-period equalizer off a sharp-angled goal from Evgenii Dadonov, with the puck appearing to bounce off the back of the mask of Vegas goalie Logan Thompson and ricocheting into the net.

It’s a big goal for momentum’s sake, as Dallas quieted the raucous Vegas crowd and head to the first intermission with the game tied at one.

Vegas 1, Dallas 0

First period (5:35 remaining): Vegas strikes first. Michael Amadio slammed in a rebound past Jake Oettinger to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead.

First period (10:00 remaining): Likewise, the Knights killed off the Stars’ first power play of the game as well. Score remains 0-0.

First period (15:20 remaining): The Stars were penalized early but Dallas survived the first Vegas power play of the night. As you may recall from Game 1: Dallas coughed up a power play goal early and trailed 1-0. Not the case so far in Game 4.

8:24 p.m.: Hopefully not a sign of things to come: Stars defenseman Chris Tanev took a puck to the face in warmups and briefly exited the ice and headed down the Stars’ tunnel.

Crisis apparently averted, though. Tanev returned to warmups after a short delay.
