Stankoven led the AHL in points (57) before he was called up to Dallas on Feb. 24.

Stars forward Logan Stankoven has officially begun collecting accolades in his professional career.

The 21-year-old was named the AHL’s most outstanding rookie Thursday, claiming the league’s Dudley (Red) Garrett Memorial Award. He is the third Texas player to win the award in the team’s 15 years in the AHL, joining Curtis McKenzie (2013-14) and Riley Damiani (2020-21).

Stankoven played 47 games in his first AHL season this year with the Texas Stars and led the league in points with 57 (24 goals, 33 assists) until he was called up to Dallas on Feb. 24. He recorded 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in his 24 regular-season NHL games and also has one assist in the Stars’ playoff series against Vegas so far.
