Former TCU defensive lineman Damonic Williams commits to Oklahoma

The Horned Frog was a member of the True Freshman All-American team after his 2022 season.

TCU football is losing a key big man on the line to the school across the Red River.

Sophomore defensive lineman Damonic Williams committed to Oklahoma, according to a report from 247Sports. Williams (6-2, 300 pounds) entered the transfer portal on April 17.

A native of Torrance, California, Williams was an All-Big 12 honorable mention for the 2023 season after registering 33 total tackles and three sacks last year.

New TCU defensive coordinator Andy Avalos will have his hands full entering the 2024 season after the departure of Williams. The Horned Frogs also lost DL Rick D’Abreu, who declared for the NFL draft.

TCU’s defense up front struggled last season and losing Williams won’t help. They ranked 75th in the FBS in least rushing yards allowed per game.
