Update Jan. 17 at 12:35 p.m.: Soul singer Gladys Knight is slated to sing the National Anthem before the kickoff to Super Bowl LIII, according to an announcement from the National Football League.
The football teams that will face off in Super Bowl LIII are still to be determined, but the halftime performers are now set.
Pop band Maroon 5 will do the honors with help from two hip-hop heavyweights, according to an announcement Sunday. Big Boi, the Atlanta rapper and one-half of legendary duo Outkast, and Travis Scott, the genre's buzziest hit-maker out of Houston, are also slated for the event.
Maroon 5 and company follow Justin Timberlake, who performed during the 2018 Super Bowl in one of the most controversial halftime shows of recent memory.
Super Bowl LIII comes to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Feb. 3, 2019.
