Get a look inside Fort Worth's new Topgolf before it opens Friday

Fort Worth is getting ready to tee off on May 5 when the city's first Topgolf location opens for business.

Topgolf, which is based in Dallas, is a driving range and entertainment complex that caters to both seasoned and novice golfers. In addition to long-range driving, the venue integrates golfing games, such as target shooting, and tracks each player's balls using microchip technology.

Fort Worth is the company's fourth location in North Texas behind Dallas, The Colony and Allen, and its 32nd worldwide. Located on 13 acres, the facility inhabits a 65,000 square feet over three stories and is outfitted with 102 hitting bays that can fit up to six people. While this location does not have putt-putt or batting cages like the one in Dallas, it does have billiards and a view of Fort Worth's downtown skyline.

Visitors can expect the same sort of food and drink offerings as other locations. (And that is, apparently, nothing to scoff at -- in February Topgolf's chicken and waffles were the crowd favorite at The Morning After brunch festival in Dallas.)
