NFL duets with local musicians for team T-shirts — but not in Dallas

I was going to call Teespring to find out how they paired musicians with NFL teams for their limited-edition tees ... until I realized the Dallas Cowboys are just one of two pro-ball franchises without a shirt.

So now I don't care. Except, clearly, I do. If only because my heart breaks for the poor soul who thinks they look good rocking that Carolina Panthers-Daughtry shirt. And I don't understand how Minnesota -- birthplace of Prince, Bob Dylan and the Replacements -- got stuck with ... Trampled by Turtles. Whatever that is.

The Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are the only two teams that didn't get tees, which Teespring says are "perfect for NFL fans to show pride in their city's football team and favorite local musicians." Not sure why the Packers were excluded; guess nobody thought a Liberace or Al Jarreau or Les Paul tee would sell? But in the case of the Cowboys, the answer's simple.

See, the Sinatra shirt isn't horrible. Subtle. Except ... it looks like a Tom Landry logo, no?

Jerry Jones'  team handles its own merchandising, and a team spokesman said those in charge of that huddle took a pass on this one-time offer.

Which is just as well -- because, as Esquire's Jonathan Evans rightly points out, "Good lord, these shirts are bad. Terrible. Horrible. Awful." (Except for the Giants-Sinatra shirt. I think.)
