There's an undefeated sports team in Dallas? Meet the Dallas Roughnecks

Closing out their inaugural season with an undefeated record, D-FW's own ultimate disc team, the Dallas Roughnecks, are vying for their first divisional title on Saturday against the Atlanta Hustle. It's no surprise The Roughnecks ended with a 14-0 record — the team is stacked with all-stars who have played in international championships around the world and bring the leadership and experience to get the job done.

But what they didn't expect was an almost season-ending injury from their captain, Beau Kittredge. Kittredge, the two-time league MVP, tore his meniscus and partially tore his ACL over two months ago. Thankfully, he recovered, through physical therapy and without surgery, and was able to return to the field on July 9.

"Because of my injury, the season has been a roller coaster of emotions but the team always supported me — watching so many different people step up has been a real treat," says Kittredge.

The time and dedication it took owner Jim Gerencser to bring ultimate disc to Dallas has paid off, and he's not stopping there.

"We're proud to represent D-FW and give our fans an unbeaten regular season, but the job isn't complete," said Gerencser. "We have a big game against Atlanta and are treating it like another necessary victory on our path to success."
