Dallas Mavericks Dancers hosting auditions July 9

Are you a Dallas Mavericks basketball fan? Do you bring your pom-poms to every home game? Do you like to whip your hair back and forth? The Dallas Mavs dance team wants you.

Auditions for the 2016-2017 Mavs Dancers take place this Saturday, July 9 at Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and tryouts commence at 10 a.m.

Tryouts may not be broadcast on an original TV series like the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, but it's no doubt competitive. Of the 300-400 women expected to attend, only 20 will make the final cut. (See hopefuls from last year's auditions.)

There are perks too, namely the calendar shoots, fun events and front row seats to basketball games.
