If you haven’t been shopping in Dallas-Fort Worth, you’re missing out. It’s home to a gallery-esque NorthPark Center and sprawling Nebraska Furniture Mart. There's the pristine Neiman Marcus flagship and bargain-packed outlet malls. Here’s a look at some classic Dallas shopping experiences, as well as some spots outside Dallas that are worth a visit.

Classic Dallas shopping hotspots

Downtown Dallas

A big highlight is the Neiman Marcus flagship store at 1618 Main St., a gorgeous, historic downtown Dallas building with immeasurable value to the fashion world. The luxury retailer has been in the same location since 1914. Four-story luxury boutique Forty Five Ten is another designer destination nearby selling brands like Saint Laurent, Moschino and Givenchy.

Galleria Dallas

You’ll find more than 200 retailers, including Nordstrom, Belk and Macy’s, at Galleria Dallas. A one-of-a-kind feature is the huge Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy combo store that's several floors tall. The American Girl store and bistro will keep little ones happy.

Better yet: Do both! The shopping center is home to a collection of 20th- and 21st-century art. There’s no classier place to shop, thanks to developer Raymond Nasher, also the namesake behind the Nasher Sculpture Center in downtown Dallas. Be sure to check out the area by Neimans where kids can see live turtles and ducks swimming in an indoor pond.
