Leslie Brenner Recommends

Whether you order simple, traditional hand-made soba, a bowl of ramen or imaginative dishes from the frequently changing list of specials, Teiichi Sakurai’s One Arts District place is simply outstanding.

Last visited: January 24, 2017

Teichi Sakurai’s soothing place in One Arts Plaza is is hands-down the best Japanese restaurant in Dallas. Whether you stop in at lunchtime for a bowl of cool soba (Sakurai is a soba master) or hot ramen at the counter, or go for a formal, multicourse omakase (chef’s choice) tasting menu — or anything in between — the experience is truly transporting. (Note: The sushi is less wonderful than the rest of the menu.) For the most dynamic experience, order from the specials menu, which changes daily. Closed Monday. Full bar. — Leslie Brenner/Guide
