Crostini with chicken liver mousse and roasted figs.

For a taste of the Macellaio experience that's easy on the wallet, grab a couple of seats at the bar and order two of the best dishes on the menu: gnoccho fritto with pancetta testa ($9) and crostini with chicken liver mousse and roasted figs ($12). Both showcase David Uygur's passion for bread and charcuterie, and his talent for personalizing classic dishes. Pair them with two jaunty, bitter cocktails ($14 each), another specialty of the house: a negroni snow cone, which is the classic cocktail poured over a tall glass of shaved ice, and the paper plane, a coup of Evan Williams Black bourbon, Aperol and amaro garnished with a tiny paper plane on the rim of the glass.
