Glammy restaurant Te Deseo is now open in hot Dallas neighborhood

This stylish spot is definitely a place to be seen.

Te Deseo is a stunner on the outside, with its emerald-green tiles splashing a beachy vibe on a sliver of the Harwood District, a hot restaurant neighborhood nestled between Uptown and Victory Park in Dallas.

Judging by the photos, it's a stunner on the inside, too, with wild patterned wallpaper in a dining room and ferns hanging from the ceiling on the rooftop patio.

The 14,000-square-foot restaurant, which opened in early August, has four bars, in fact.

"By intent, location and design, Te Deseo is a destination to have dinner — then stay to have fun," says Stephen Bello, senior vice president of Harwood Hospitality Group, which operates the restaurant.

While called a sister concept to the rowdy sports bar Happiest Hour nearby, we're not seeing many similarities between the two, beyond proximity.

Executive chef Ty Thaxton's Latin American menu has influences from Peru, Argentina, Mexico and Brazil, according to a press release. Ceviches take a prominent place on the menu, as do skewers of meat called anticuchos; shared plates called plato común; and family-style meat platters called parrillada.

"I love everything about Latin cuisine," says Thaxton, "the flavors, the spice, the cooking techniques, the memories. ... From our secret sauces to the marinades, there's a bit of a memory or a story in every recipe."

Te Deseo also offers a stout variety of tequilas and mezcals.
