Years in the making, chef Nick Badovinus' Town Hearth debuts in Design District

The 6,000-square foot restaurant, first announced in 2014, features wood-fired hearth as the focal point of a large, open dining room.

"We have been cooking for a while and doing a party here and there, but it's time to go live!" That's the word from chef Nick Badovinus, who told The Dallas Morning News in an email that Town Hearth will open to the public Tuesday night.

Badovinus first announced the project in 2014, housed in a 6,000-square-foot building in the Dallas Design District. Its large, open dining room features an open hearth as its focal point. As the chef, who also owns Neighborhood Services, Off-Site Kitchen and Montlake Cuttold News contributor Mark Vamos in 2015,

"It's like what happens if you bring a vintage steakhouse to a beach party."
