The cast for Dancing With the Stars: Athletes was announced Friday morning, and it's not short on surprise or talent.

The announcement was made live on a festive set on Good Morning, America. The athletes and pros then gave an early look at their dance moves by holding a dance-off with each dancer holding sports equipment, including lacrosse sticks, ski goggles, fake snow and ribbon.

The sport of figure skating has the best chance of winning, with three of the 10 spots held by Olympic skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu and retired skater Tonya Harding.

Rippon and Harding were the names that had slipped into the rumor mill before the announcement. And then there's eyebrow-raising NBA and college basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, towering in surprise over the competition.
