Who wins Arie's heart on 'The Bachelor' (and other major spoilers)

Editor's note: This story has been updated to include details of The Bachelor season finale.

New Year's Day helped usher in a new season of The Bachelor, and in case you haven't heard yet, former pro race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. is the star. Five years ago, he had his heart broken on The Bachelorette. Now 36 years old, Luyendyk is back to find the love of his life in a pool of 29 women -- many of whom are far younger than he is.

While Monday night's premiere gave us some of the usual, cringe-worthy moments as the women tried to leave an impression on the silver fox, most of the episode was lackluster. The highlights: One women from Weiner, Ark. gave him a little "weiner" in hopes he didn't already have one. Another from Dallas asked Luyendyk to smell her armpit, adding the punchline, "Bet that's the pitstop you've ever had." Oh lordy.

And we already have a villain: Chelsea, a 29-year-old real estate exec from Maine, who decided to grab Luyendyk not once, but twice throughout the evening. Gasp! (That's a major no-no.)

If the premiere was any indication, season 22 of The Bachelor is shaping up to be a snooze fest. But rest assured, there will be tears and drama.

If you're not cut out to keep up with the details over the next several weeks, we have you covered. GuideLive contributor Amy Vanderoef caught up with blogger and Spoiler in Chief Reality Steve to get the inside scoop on how the season plays out and find out who wins. Here are four takeaways from the interview.

Warning: Major spoilers ahead!

How do our women from Dallas fare?

There are three women from Dallas competing this season, two of whom are named Lauren. Unsurprisingly, the women who shoved her armpits to Luyendyk's face was sent home during the premiere, but the two Laurens remain. According to Reality Steve, one of them "lasts a few episodes." The other, however, makes it all the way to the season finale in Peru -- only to be dumped.

Here are your top four.

Lauren Burnham, a sales executive based in Dallas, is one of four women to take Luyendyk home to meet the family, says Reality Steve. The others are Tia, a country bombshell from Arkansas; Kendall, a Southern California resident with a borderline unhealthy obsession with taxidermy; and Becca K., a publicist from Minnesota. Could they be more different?

The most dramatic season finale yet!

Every season, The Bachelor promises to be the most dramatic yet. But even Reality Steve concedes what happens during the finale is unprecedented. Allegedly, an ex-boyfriend shows up in South America and proposes to Luyendyk's top pick. What happens next? She "rejects the ex to get engaged to a guy she's known for two months," says Reality Steve. The Bachelor at it's finest.

And the winner is...

Who is this lucky lady receiving two proposals in one day? Becca K., who coincidentally forced Luyendyk to propose on the very first night they met at the Bachelor mansion. If you watched, you'll remember she made him close his eyes and get down on one knee, hoping his first proposal of the show would also be his last. Nailed it!

But wait there's more...

After filming wrapped, Arie threw a curve ball.

According Reality Steve, the season winner, Becca, did not keep her ring for long. The two were engaged, Steve tells GuideLive, until Arie realized his worst fear had come true: He had chosen the wrong woman.

Let's just say there may be camera footage of Arie breaking off his engagement and grovelling back to Lauren's doorstep. Read more details about the end of the season here.

Tune into The Bachelor on Monday nights at 7 p.m. CST on ABC.
