Waco couple Chip and Joanna Gaines' 'Fixer Upper' nominated for Emmy award

Waco couple Chip and Joanna Gaines' TV show Fixer Upper was among the Emmy nominees announced Thursday morning.

The show was nominated for outstanding structured reality program. It's the first such nomination for the show.

The network was excited.

And so were fans. Chip? Well, he just wondered if it was going to be useful.

Shark Tank, which features local magnate Mark Cuban as one of the judges, is a contender to repeat its win from 2016. The other nominated shows are Antiques Roadshow, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, Lip Sync Battle, and Who Do You Think You Are.

The awards will be presented at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards show on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. on FXX.
