'Real Housewives of Dallas' main squeeze will star in documentary series on A&E

Retired Dallas police detective Rich Emberlin is resurfacing as an in-studio analyst on the timely A&E documentary series Live PD.

Live PD will premiere on Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. Because of the nature of police work and live TV, it will air on a delay.

Viewers might remember Emberlin from Dallas SWAT and The First 48. But more recently, he was a constant presence on Real Housewives of Dallas alongside girlfriend LeeAnne Locken.

The provocative Live PD represents quite a change from Emberlin's last foray in TV in which we learned he's quite calm under fire and adept at negotiating.

The eight-episode, limited series will allow viewers to ride along as police "inside the country's busiest police forces" patrol. Police action in rural and urban communities will be seen through the lens of dash cams and "fixed rig and handheld cameras."

ABC News chief legal analyst Dan Abrams will host Live PD. Emberlin and his decades-long partner, DPD detective Kevin Jackson, will help guide the discussion, offering insights gleaned from years serving in different types of units.
