'Amazing Race' recap: Really? #TeamTexas was OK with a stranger spitting on them

For those who are into the strategies of deception and alliances, "Good Old Fashioned Spit in the Face" was the episode to see.

It's like CBS learned a lot from its old Guiding Light soap operas and applied it to a reality show with a little overdone soundtrack to enhance the drama.

In this episode, we see the details of the old Double U-Turn explained.

Will #TeamTexas use this to throw off its arch-rival, #TheGreenTeam? Did the tradition of an African village woman spitting water in their faces throw off #TeamTexas' judgment?

Tasks to collect clues: Road Block, Rise Above takes contestants on a flying bicycle tour of the Victoria Falls, one of the world's seven natural wonders. I'm sure it's a sight to behold, but you had to be more fascinated about whether the bike would lose power or one of the contestants would freak out and one of the flying bikes would crash into the falls. Detour: Wood or croquet separated the artists from the athletes. You either had to play a relaxing game of croquet wearing a straw hat and bow tie. Or you stained and polished small wooden giraffes with toothbrushes. It sounded simple enough but looked to be causing a bigger rift between #ThePaparazzi couple, which sounded like they wanted to smash each over the head with the wooden figures.

The Pit Stop: Rose of Charity Orphanage, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. I gotta admit that I kept glancing around to see whether the kids were wearing "Texas Rangers: 2011 World Series champions" T-shirts.

Who finished first: #TheGreenTeam

Who's out: Well, we won't know until next week. Maybe. Unless it's a non-elimination round.

Texas connection: We were surprised to see #TeamTexas take to the idea of suddenly getting spit on by a villager. They seemed to take it in stride, but I'm not sure that would be the case if it happened in Uptown or Cowtown.

Next week: The race continues in Victoria Falls. More screaming from #TheCheerleaders.
