Hot-lips Dallas is A-OK with PDA, but Austin's cold-as-ice

Sure, Austin may have that historic music scene and an eternal essence of effortless cool. There's also the food ... and the beer ... both of which are darned delicious. But, do you know one thing Austin doesn't have? The dubious honor of being the top city in the nation where singles are comfortable kissing in public. That's all yours, Dallas.

Surprised? It comes from Dallas-based Match.com's annual Singles in America survey, based on "attitudes and behaviors taken from a representative sample of 5,504 U.S. singles between the ages of 18 to 70-plus," a release says.

Maybe the local sample consisted mostly of couples waiting in line to ride the Texas Giant?

Even more surprising: Austin ranked number one nationally on the list of singles least comfortable kissing in public. That's despite the resurgence of the crop top, an ACL and SXSW staple, and probably the world's sexiest shirt style ever, second only to mesh tank tops.

You might recall hearing about the SIA Survey when it declared Marco Rubio and Bernie Sanders the "most kissable" presidential candidates, back before the primaries began a slow limp to a halt.

Match brought around its illuminating stats on PDA again in honor of International Kissing Day, more commonly referred to as "July 6."

Other points of note: Austin ranks number one nationally among cities that don't kiss their co-workers, whereas El Paso and Fort Worth are all about inter-office lip shenanigans, ranking number one and three respectively.

Fifty percent of Millennials are willing to kiss on a first date, falling just short to Gen X-ers, who are mostly up for it as long as the bar is playing Joy Division to set the right mood.
