Wendy Williams to Rachel Lindsay: 'Your smarts are better' than 'The Bachelorette'

The Bachelorette may have concluded for this year, but TV host Wendy Williams is not over it.

She invited Dallasite Rachel Lindsay, star of the latest season, to The Wendy Williams Show this week to chat about life after reality television -- and the conversation included copious amounts of shade. For instance, when Williams asked why Lindsay went on the show, she phrased it like this:

"In the name of your father as a judge and your mom is a decent woman and your parents raised you well and put you through college and law school, only for you to find love on a reality show? I'm not going to front."

To be fair, Lindsay said, she couldn't have done it without the support of her family. Plus, how can you turn down an opportunity to represent African-American women in a positive way where they have been underrepresented?

"And I had a chance to find love," said Lindsay, who is now engaged to contestant Bryan Abasolo.

"No, you had a chance to be on TV and in every magazine is what I'm thinking," Williams retorted.

Even after Lindsay made her case for a normal(ish) post-TV life -- "Dallas keeps me grounded, my job keeps me grounded," she said -- Williams was unconvinced.

"Congratulations, I don't think you can find love on reality TV," Williams said. "I dig you, but I just feel like your smarts are better than this."

To which Lindsay replied: Wendy there's a wedding invitation with your name on it.

Those were hardly the only eventful moments of the conversation. Watch the full interview below:
