Pop culture was full of beginnings and endings July 3-7: Kesha released her first single in four years and LC welcomed a new baby to the world, while Maria Menounos announced she's leaving E! News and Taylor Swift ended her streak of annual over-the-top fourth of July bashes this year.

Kesha’s back with an emotional new single

After four years, Kesha has released a new single, “Praying.” Though she’s still entangled in legal battles with music producer Dr. Luke, she says she’s channeled her “hopelessness and depression” into this new song. With previous hits like “We R Who We R” and “Your Love Is My Drug,” it's safe to say the world is ready for more Kesha.

Lauren Conrad’s baby boy is here! The one-time Laguna Beach and The Hills star welcomed a son on Wednesday, her first child with husband William Tell. LC says she’ll be taking a step back from her lifestyle website while she bonds with little Liam James. Though we're sure baby photos will be Pinterest-perfect when they surface, we have to ask: Who took the time to needlepoint the Instagram announcement, and what will LC do with it now that it's served its Insta-purpose?

In an explosive social media rant on Wednesday, Rob Kardashian accused Blac Chyna of cheating and posted (since-removed) nude photos of her, first on Instagram, then on Twitter. Chyna replied with accusations of physical abuse, and Kardashian’s actions could be prosecuted as abuse in themselves: Chyna’s lawyer is “exploring all legal remedies and protections,” as the explicit photos Kardashian posted may be considered revenge porn, according to Rolling Stone, among others, which is illegal in California.

Iconic Dallas restaurant The Palm closes after over three decades

After 33 years, the iconic Palm restaurant has closed its doors. Having played host to big names from George Bush (times two), Farrah Fawcett and more, the caricature-lined restaurant in Dallas' West Elm will be missed. But, owner Wally Ganzi says it's not forever; he's already been looking for the next Dallas location for the last three years.

Taylor Swift didn’t have a 4th of July party, and the nation mourned

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

As most of the nation celebrated Independence Day, Swifties saw no reason for glee as the truth dawned: Taylor Swift failed to host her annual 4th of July bash this year. Though her signature blow-up slide was spotted outside, no star-studded pictures emerged, and it appeared that her Rhode Island mansion was conspicuously empty of the supermodel-heavy squad the singer usually celebrates with.

This Taylor-less holiday is now just one in a string of recent days with no sightings of the star.

Maria Menounos announces she's leaving E! News after brain tumor surgery

Following surgery to remove a brain tumor, Menounos is stepping down as co-host of E! News, a position she’s held since 2015. Happily, the surgery removed almost 100% of the benign tumor. The health scare comes at the same time as Menounos is caring for her mother, who is fighting stage 4 brain cancer.

The gang's back: new Will & Grace teaser released

Eleven years after the gang said goodbye in a dramatic series finale, Will & Grace (& Jack & Karen) are back in action, with a new teaser out this week for the show’s return. Set for a 10-episode run that will premiere on NBC on Sept. 28, the trailer gives precious little insight into plot lines of the season, but it seems clear that silly dances, slaps and smooches will be in high supply.
