Sarah Koenig has epic 'drop the mic' moment at #ThinkSpeak lecture

Sarah Koenig simultaneously knocked the crowd at the Winspear Opera House off its feet and up to a standing ovation at last night's #ThinkSpeak series.

Koenig, host and executive producer of the podcast Serial, spoke on a variety of topics ranging from her reporting techniques for Serial: Season 1 — which centers on the question of whether or not Adnan Syed is guilty or innocent of murdering his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee — to why she believes Serial took off and what it is like living in the crosshairs of pop culture.

She responded,

"I don't think a man would be asked this question."

Which was followed by a thunderous applause before she provided an anecdote about spending so much time in her unheated basement in State College, Penn., recording Serial that her daughter set a dinner table for three instead of her family of four one night.

The entire evening was inspiring for all who enjoy a good story, even though contrary to the sign posted outside the theater, there was no theatrical haze nor dry ice fog. Maybe for Season 2.
