Fifty shades of inappropriate: Middle school kids given naughty puzzles

Some parents in Pennsylvania are steaming this week because their middle-school-aged kids were given a steamy puzzle to work at school.

Parents told WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh that at least five eighth-grade students at Westmoreland County middle school were given word search puzzles based on Fifty Shades of Grey. Which is, you know, primarily about s-e-x. Kinky s-e-x.

The puzzle contained some choice terms, including "bondage," "spanking," "leather cuffs," and other words that aren't printable here. So you can imagine how those parents reacted to their kids being given them in school.

The school board is investigating, but won't discuss the incident yet.

“It was a huge but unintentional error and collected from the five students involved as soon as it was realized,” board member Roberta Bergstedt told WTAE via email. “Unfortunately one copy was taken by a student who then posted it on social media.”
