Sarah Koenig to resume coverage of Adnan Syed from 'Serial' Season 1

Adnan Syed's case has a far larger megaphone than it ever had before thanks to being the focus of Serial Season 1. This week, because of new evidence revealed during Serial, the man found guilty of murder is back in court and Sarah Koenig is there to cover it for the podcast.

Syed was granted a hearing in Baltimore, part of the continuation of his petition for post-conviction relief, to hear testimony from Asia McClain. Serial diehards will know she is the woman who has said that Syed was at the Woodlawn library when prosecutors said that Hae Min Lee, Syed's ex-girlfriend, was kidnapped and strangled in 1999.

McClain said she was never asked to testify in Syed's original trial and was told by prosecutors that her alibi for Syed was irrelevant. Syed was sentenced to life in prison for the murder.
