Cloudy, warm and humid

Mostly cloudy, warm and humid weather is on tap for Wednesday. Afternoon highs will back into the mid 80s today (well above the normal high this time of year around 76).

Thursday will be even warmer with highs into the upper 80s to near 90. The heat and humidity will combine to generate plenty of instability for thunderstorms late in the day. A cold front will initiate these storms by Thursday evening. Some of these could be severe with a threat for large hail and damaging winds.

A break in the rain will arrive Friday, but more widespread rain is likely Saturday. Rain totals could exceed 2″ Saturday. Cooler weather is in store for the weekend with highs only in the 60s.
