Body found in Garland creek identified as Allen resident; death investigation ongoing

The medical examiner’s office and police are waiting for a toxicology report to be completed.

The body found in a Garland creek late last month has been identified, and the investigation into his death continues, according to officials.

The man was identified as 43-year-old Roderick Glenn Harrien of Allen.

Garland police responded about 10:30 a.m. April 21 to a creek beneath a bridge near West Campbell Road and Water Oak Drive and found Harrien’s body among debris in the water, police said at the time.

Detectives believed the body may have drifted downstream from a location north of where it was found due to recent flooding, but police were working with the Dallas County medical examiner’s office to determine Harrien’s cause of death.

Although there is no apparent evidence of foul play, a toxicology report is pending.

Anyone with information related to the death is asked to call police at 972-485-4840.

”Our thoughts and support are with the family during this challenging period,” police said in a Monday news release.
