Presumed human remains found on North Texas property launches multi-agency investigation

The Hunts County Sheriff’s Office said the remains were presumed to be human.

Presumed human skeletal remains were found on a property in Rains County on Wednesday, launching a multi-agency investigation.

Texas Rangers are leading the investigation with the assistance of the Rains County and Hunt County sheriff’s offices.

“The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing,” a news release said. “No other information is available at the time of this release.”

Multiple police vehicles were seen alongside U.S. Highway 276 in western Rains County on Wednesday, KETR public radio station reported.
