Project to replace weather damaged trees underway in Richardson’s CORE district

About 38 trees will be replaced under the project.

A project in Richardson’s CORE District will remove dead and damaged trees and plant new ones.

Visitors to the district are likely to see an activity increase on medians and sidewalks as the project gets underway, the city stated in an announcement.

Trees were initially installed in the area in December of 2020 but many of them sustained significant damage due to extreme weather. Included were 2021′s Winter Storm Uri in 2021, freezing temperatures in and 2022, a drought in North Texas, high summer temperatures and a Labor Day storm.
