First responders, veterans, aviation workers to speak at Grapevine 9/11 event

An honor guard bell ceremony and moments of silence when airplanes struck each tower are also planned

Aviation industry workers, a U.S. Air Force general and others are scheduled to offer remarks at a 9/11 remembrance event Sunday by the city of Grapevine.

The event will stream live at 7:30 a.m., on the Grapevine Facebook page, and includes a bell ceremony by the Grapevine Fire Department Honor Guard. The event will be at the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial at 1000 Texan Trail.

Grapevine Fire Chief Darrell Brown is scheduled to speak first, followed by Josh Black from the Association of Professional Flight Attendants. Air Force Brigadier Gen. Mitchell A. Hanson, and Marine Corps Master Sgt. Thomas J. Manor will also contribute.

Ceremonies will also mark moments that planes hit the two towers.
