El Paso singer Khalid plans benefit concert in wake of El Paso mass shooting.

Grammy-nominated singer Khalid is planning a benefit concert in El Paso to support families affected by Saturday's El Paso shooting, according to a series of tweets he posted Monday.

On Saturday, a 21-year-old man with North Texas ties is suspected of opening fire in an El Paso Walmart. The death toll rose to 22 on Monday while many more were reported wounded.

Khalid graduated from Americas High School in El Paso in 2016. In the tweets, he wrote, “Hearing/seeing an act of terrorism happen so close to home, my family, and my friends has been unbelievable and shocking.”
