It's been 10 years since the inaugural Homegrown Festival broke onto the Dallas festival scene and organizers plan to celebrate in style.

The event has always prided itself on booking exclusively Texas artists, and this year's lineup announced Friday is an obvious ode to North Texas' musical roots. Alt-rockers The Toadies and Tripping Daisy will headline the festival, which is slated for Saturday, April 13 at Main Street Garden in downtown Dallas. As local music lovers may recall, Tripping Daisy reunited for the Homegrown Festival in 2017. This installment, too, will be a reunion more than one band.

Denton-founded group Seryn will share the stage for for a rare concert since breaking up in 2016. Other acts on the bill include Austin psychedelic outfit Black Pumas, funky soul band the Suffers from Houston, and folksy crooner Israel Nash of Dripping Springs. (See the full lineup below.)

18 years after tragedy, Tripping Daisy began a triumphant, psychedelic new chapter at Homegrown Fest

The announcement of the 10th annual Homegrown Festival is welcome news after a tumultuous 2018. Last year, the event was at risk of being canceled because of low ticket sales. Still, organizer Joshua Florence promised the show would go on in 2019.

"We've had Homegrown 10 circled on our calendar for 10 years," he told GuideLive last year. "Even if this year is kind of a bump in the road and difficult for us, we are planning to be All Systems Go for next year."

Thankfully, the music community turned out and saved the event, which our then-music critic said "was all fire and 100 emojis." Dope.

Tickets to the 10th annual Homegrown Festival are currently on sale, ranging $49 for general admission to $89 for VIP. Dogs and kids get in free. More artists are expected to be announced.
