'God must hate me' says Grapevine rapper Post Malone, who should stop getting into vehicles

Early Friday, the Grapevine native and rapper was uninjured in a car wreck in West Hollywood, a little more than two weeks after tires on a private plane he was aboard blew out on takeoff, forcing an emergency landing.

Rappers like Post Malone are looking for real-life material for cred. He's getting his wish with now his second brush with disaster in less than a month.

Early Friday, the Grapevine native was uninjured in a car wreck near Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, a little more than two weeks after the tires on a private jet he was aboard blew out on takeoff, forcing an emergency landing in New York.

Malone, 23, also known as Austin Richard Post, did have a sense of humor about the car wreck in a 5:38 a.m. tweet: "god must hate me lol".

"First almost a plane, now almost a car," Malone told CBS Los Angeles.

Malone, whose debut album is certified triple platinum, was riding the passenger's seat of his white Rolls-Royce Wraith in West Hollywood on Friday when the car collided with a Kia, West Hollywood Sheriff's Department authorities confirmed. The car, which was driven by Malone's assistant,  smashed through a nearby fence before stopping in some bushes.

Authorities told media outlets that no injuries were reported, no alcohol was involved and a police report was not filed. Photos showed the Rolls' driver's side smashed in sitting aboard a flatbed truck. A Rolls-Royce Wraith runs about $320,500 new, according to Car and Driver magazine.

On Aug. 21, Malone was aboard a Gulfstream jet bound for Westfield, Mass., when pilots learned of the blown tires. The plane circled the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey where it had taken off and burned fuel before it was diverted twice. The plane spent five hours in the air before landing safely.

On Twitter, Malone thanked his fans and friends and had a special message for his haters.

"I landed guys. Thank you for your prayers," he wrote. "Can't believe how many people wished death on me on this website."

Malone was the second rapper with North Texas ties to have recent transportation issues.

Vanilla Ice, who was Robert Matthew Van Winkle when he was on the mean streets of Carrollton, was among 520 passengers who were stuck on a quarantined airplane from Dubai. The Airbus was detained at New York's JFK Airport.

"So I just landed in New York coming back from Dubai and now I'm stuck on the runway with like 1000 police, ambulances, fire trucks, this is crazy," Ice wrote on his Facebook page.
