From Dallas to Euless, #LipSyncChallenge has local police singing different tunes

Police departments all over the country have been doing the "Lip Sync Challenge," most using Billboard present-day hits.

And apparently, it all started in Texas, according to NBC5. The challenge seems to have started in Central Texas and spread nationally, with each participating department calling out another to join.

McKinney Police Department dropped their video last week with Pharrell's "Happy." There was some flossing involved and the video featured footage from all over the city, involving residents along the way. A couple of weeks ago, Southlake Police started out lip syncing "Hello," "How Far I'll Go" and a few other songs, but cut the music out from under the singers to add some variety ... um, levity.

Dallas Police Department had a variety of music featured, then aimed high with their challenge, ending with "Howdy, y'all. NYPD, y'all up next."

Other local videos include ones from Fort Worth (hilarious) to Rowlett, Cedar Hill to Wylie to and all the places in between.

And now there's Euless Police Department, which released its video on Monday. The backdrop? All the way back to 1984 with "Footloose."

They aren't late to the challenge; Euless Police Department was just taking its time. The production values are top-notch (well, the cheesy titles can be forgiven). The video includes a dancing Mayor Linda Gray; court staff; the fire department; "our real-life heroes;" local businesses; and the school district.

The EPD video came complete with credits. The department dedicated the #LipSyncChallenge "to our city."

Love is what it does. And this love will make you smile.
