5 upcoming shows to know about, including Childish Gambino and Luke Bryan

It's only March, but Donald Glover is already having a year that any entertainer would envy.

Live Nation announced Monday that Childish Gambino, his crooning alter ego, will come to American Airlines Center on Sept. 23 on his North American tour.

That's great news for fans. And it adds to his 2018 ledger: The long-awaited second season of his Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning TV show, Atlanta, kicked off March 1. He won a Grammy in January for best traditional R&B performance for "Redbone" after getting 5 nominations that included album of the year for Awaken, My Love. His turn as Lando Calrissian was one of the most talked about parts of the trailer for the May 25 Solo: A Star Wars Story. Oh, and he performed "Terrified" on the Grammy awards show with JD McCrary, the young Simba to his older, wiser one in the 2019 Lion King?

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 9, for the show that will also feature Rae Sremmurd.

Other show news:

G Herbo and Dice Soho will join Lil Uzi Vert for the first hopes-to-be-annual "House Party" on Saturday, March 17, at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Lil Uzi Vert was nominated for best new artist and best rap performance at this year's Grammys. According to a press release, "due to popular demand," tickets are now being sold for the lawn at $25 through Friday, March 9.

Slayer announced a second leg of its world tour that sold out its June 19 date at the Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum. Unfortunately, the new dates only come as close as San Antonio and Freeman Coliseum on Aug. 15.

Luke Bryan, with Jon Pardi and Carly Pearce, will bring his "What Makes You Country Tour" to Starplex Pavilion as part of the "Visit Dallas" concert series on Sept. 8. Pearce was just here opening for Blake Shelton at American Airlines Center. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 9. LiveNation.com.

Pentatonix will come to Starplex Pavilion as part of the "Visit Dallas" concert series on July 26. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, March 9. The group has a new album coming out April 13: PTX Presents: Top Pop, Vol. 1. LiveNation.com.
