Dallas' Homegrown Fest gets a dose of psychedelia from this year's headliners

Homegrown Music and Arts Festival has become a Dallas institution for its increasingly exciting lineups of Texas-based bands. In 2017, for example, it hosted a reunited Tripping Daisy for one of the year's banner local performances.

Now in its ninth year, the festival shows no signs of slowing. Instrumental rock group Explosions in the Sky, psychedelic rock band The Black Angels and Texas-bred rocker Roky Erickson will grace the stage at Main Street Garden in downtown Dallas for the event, which is slated for May 12.

Another name of note on the bill: [DARYL], which local music lovers may recognize. The band, which specializes in a fuzzy, guitar-driven tunes, took a break in the early 2000s before "reunifying" for a one-off show in 2011, according to the Dallas Observer.

Tickets to Homegrown cost $50 for general admission, $65 to include a limited-edition screen print poster, and $125 for VIP, which includes access to special bathrooms and bars and a festival t-shirt.
