Kesha and Macklemore join forces for 2018 tour, coming to Dallas

Two mainstays of pop music are teaming up for a tour in 2018. Kesha and Macklemore announced Monday a 30-date nationwide tour fittingly called The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore Tour.

The duo comes to Starplex Pavilion in Dallas on June 20, 2018. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 15 at noon via Ticketmaster; however, Citi credit card holders can gain pre-sale access to tickets as of Wednesday, Dec. 13 at noon. Tickets range $30.50-$126 and $1 of each purchase will benefit causes close to the artists' hearts: Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN), an anti-sexual assault organization, and M Plus1, an organization that advances racial and social justice through the M&RL Equity Fund.

Both Kesha and Macklemore are stars in their own right. The former is riding high on the release of her latest album, Rainbow, which marked a comeback for the artist after a heated and very public battle with a producer named Dr. Luke who she claims abused her. (Kelly Clarkson also says she was "blackmailed" into working with Dr. Luke.)

Rainbow debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 shortly thereafter. GuideLive contributor Brenna Rushing said of Kesha's latest local performance at Jingle Ball, "Even though Kesha's newest Grammy-nominated record, Rainbow, is a far cry from the carefree, brash style she struck out with years ago, she hasn't lost her fire."

Macklemore had a similarly eventful year with the release of Gemini, his first solo album in more than a decade. (As fans may recall, the rapper is usually buddied-up with collaborator Ryan Lewis.) Pitchfork described the album as "faux-inspirational in the front and faux-churchy in the back with some mild, relatable songs stacked up in the middle" in a review, giving it a score of 5.4 out of 10.
