The Rustic is one of Texas' highest-grossing venues in alcohol sales (and, related, also one of Dallas' most popular bars), and on Thursday, Nov. 9, it played host to a charity event from Highland Park's own Clayton Kershaw, pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The benefit concert was organized to raise money for Kershaw's Challenge, a Christian charity that raises money for needy children. Attendees thought they were going to a concert featuring Texas country artist Clay Walker.

And then, surprise!, Paisley showed up, too.

The country singer, famous for his 39 songs that have landed on the Billboard charts, most recently hosted the CMA Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 8 in Nashville with Carrie Underwood. He last performed in these parts in March 2017 (at WinStar World Casino) and in August 2016 at Starplex in Dallas. He was supposed to be at Toyota Music Factory in Irving for its opening weekend in September 2017, but that gig was canceled due to construction issues.
