Update on Dec. 27 at 10:45 a.m.: Shakira's El Dorado World Tour, originally scheduled to hit Dallas in January, 2018, has been postponed. The new date is Aug. 21.
"Shakira's doctors have determined that she needs to spend the next few months working towards recovery in order for her vocal cords to be in optimal condition for touring," says a press release. Tickets purchased for the original date will be valid for the new one, or refunds can be requested at the point of purchase.

The Colombian singer-songwriter will perform on Jan. 28, 2018, at the American Airlines Center, Live Nation announced this week.
The tour announcement comes after Shakira's 11th studio album release, El Dorado, which includes hits like "La Bicicleta," "Chantaje" and "Me enamoré."
El Dorado, a 5-time platinum album, hit No. 1 on iTunes in 37 countries.
The pop star, who has been performing for over 20 years, has won several awards during her career, including two Grammys and eight latin Grammys. She has sold over 60 million records worldwide.
Shakira's world tour will visit 33 cities in Europe and America. The first stop will be Nov. 8 in Cologne, Germany, and the last one will be on Feb. 10, 2018 in Las Vegas.
