Band Sylvan Esso brings the beats to Dallas this summer on heels of new album

Electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso has been teasing fans with new singles for about six months, but soon it will be bringing a slew of fresh tunes to Dallas.

The band comes to Granada Theater on Aug. 29 on the heels of releasing a new album, entitled What Now. Tickets cost $25 (standing room only) and go on sale Friday, March 3 on the venue's website. Dream-pop outfit Flock of Dimes opens the show.

Sylvan Esso broke onto the indie dance music scene with the release of its self-titled debut in 2014. Members Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn have since played two sold-out shows at Granada, once as opener for Tune-Yards and another time as the headlining act.

The band's sophomore album, What Now, is expected out on April 28, and its singles "Radio" and "Kick Jump Twist" have been met with praise from fans and critics alike. "Everything has evolved — the production is bolder, the vocals are more intense, the melodies are more irresistible, and the songs shine that much brighter," says a statement. "It's an album that is both political and personal, and blurs the line between the two."
