Reports: Lady Gaga will perform on the roof at the Super Bowl in Houston

Scary, maybe. Surprising? Nope. The pop star isn't one to follow the paths others have paved. She has become an icon for being outspoken about LGBT rights and there was even an erroneous rumor that she might cancel her halftime show at the Super Bowl over her disapproval of Texas' so-called "bathroom bill."

Speculation continues to grow over what Lady Gaga might do -- or say -- at the Super Bowl halftime show in Houston on Feb. 5. But we now know where: "suspended from the roof from NRG Stadium," KHOU in Houston and The Washington Post report.

The roof is more than 260 feet above the football field. Where, y'know, most other celebrities would have planned to perform.

The "Born This Way" singer has reportedly landed in Houston in advance of Super Bowl LI and has been spotted around town. She's more than ready for the big day, she says in a pre-Super Bowl video posted by Pepsi: "I've been planning this since I was 4 [years old]," she says.

One of Gaga's aims is "what can I do differently?" she says in the video. Unsurprising: The pop star isn't one to follow the paths others have paved. She has become an icon for being outspoken about LGBT rights and there was even an erroneous rumor that she might cancel her halftime show at the Super Bowl over her disapproval of Texas' so-called "bathroom bill."

According to video from rehearsals, it appears as though "Bad Romance" will be one of the songs she'll sing. Choreographer Richy Jackson called their opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl "probably the greatest 12 minutes of our lives."

According to most media reports, there isn't much else to know yet. "I don't want to say anything or give away anything specifically about what you will see during the halftime show because I don't want to ruin the surprise for everyone else," Gaga told Us. "But I will tell you that it's going to be fantastic."

Lady Gaga last performed in the Dallas area in 2014. She is expected to announce the dates of her 2017 Joanne tour on Monday, Feb. 6, the day after the Super Bowl.
