Queen and Adam Lambert will rock you with summer concert in Dallas

This show is "guaranteed to blow your mind."

Legendary rock band Queen is coming to Dallas with American Idol alum Adam Lambert filling Freddie Mercury's leather pants. The concert hits American Airlines Center on Aug. 4, marking the second to last stop on a nationwide arena tour.

Last time Queen came to town in 2014, Lambert was also fronting the band. He landed that gig after wowing the Idol judges with his take on "Bohemian Rhapsody," and later performing with the band at the end of the TV show's season. That lead to a performance at the MTV Music Awards and a couple European concerts, and then a full-blown tour. And now a second.

"That's not to suggest I'm getting cocky at all, because I will never compare to Freddie Mercury. He's one in a million," Lambert told Rolling Stone in 2014. "At this point, I know how to strike a balance between honoring the way these songs were originally meant to be sung and my own instincts, my own choices."

This approach has largely worked for fans. A Dallas Morning News review of the 2014 tour called the combination an absolute success and said "the crowd seemed to be all-in in accepting Lambert as the next best thing they're ever going to find for Mercury."
