U2 is bringing back its 'Joshua Tree' stadium tour, and it's coming to D-FW

It's nearly impossible to believe that it's been 30 years since U2 released its landmark 1987 album "The Joshua Tree." But it has been, and to celebrate, U2 will return to select stadiums this year with U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017. The tour will stop at Arlington's AT&T Stadium on May 26. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Jan. 17 on Ticketmaster.

The band will perform 'The Joshua Tree' in its entirety at each show.

With hit singles "With Or Without You", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Where The Streets Have No Name," The Joshua Tree, released on March 9, 1987, was U2's first No. 1 album in the United States. It topped the charts across the globe,  selling more than 25 million copies.

"Recently I listened back to The Joshua Tree for the first time in nearly 30 years," U2 frontman Bono said in a statement on the tour's press release. "It's quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current, love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarisation ... all the greats.

"I've sung some of these songs a lot ... but never all of them. I'm up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are ... it's gonna be a great night."

The Joshua Tree spawned a traffic-stopping Grammy Award-winning music video on the roof of a Los Angeles liquor store.
