People are digging the new Post Malone and Pentatonix albums, according to Billboard

It's been an explosive year for the Dallas-Fort Worth music scene and at least two local artists are riding hot into the New Year.

Pentatonix and Post Malone, from Arlington and Grapevine respectively, cracked the Billboard 200 last week with their new albums.

According to Billboard, A Pentatonix Christmas came in at No. 2 after surging in popularity since its October release. Last year's That's Christmas to Me also cracked the top five, making Pentatonix the first artist to chart two albums concurrently since Prince in May following his death, reports Billboard.

Post Malone's first full-length, Stoney, came in at No. 6 the week of its debut, selling 58,000 units (19,000 in album sales). Though, Billboard notes, it was the third most streamed album with 51.7 million streams.
